About Maxine

“Art is an avenue of bringing the beauty and energies of the world into an image for people to gain insight into their lives”

Contemporary artist, Maxine Taylor, brings beauty and energy into people’s homes and offices with her eclectic collection of deeply inspiring and uplifting art.

Maxine combines spiritual guidance and intuition to touch the deeper psyche of her buyers.  This combined with the beautiful array of vibrant colours and positive emotional charge she instills in every painting, results in inspiring people to aim higher in life and achieve joy through her paintings.

She is well renowned for her Women’s Series which depict the emotional insights that women hold, inspiring them as they travel through life. She also enjoys painting Abstract, Still Life & Nudes and is currently working on a new Spiritual Series.

Born in Matamata, New Zealand, Maxine studied Visual and Applied Arts and was awarded the Young Designer Award in Wakatio in 1981.   She worked at CPA Advertising and the New Zealand Women’s Weekly as a graphic artist and eventually immigrated to Australia in 1984, settling in the picturesque Adelaide hills.

ibisMaxine has exhibited her work in many prominent galleries around the world, including Ternecula Art Gallery in California (USA), Bottland Gallery of Modern Art in Sydney and various art galleries around Adelaide and surrounding areas, such as the Greenhill Art Gallery, Hans Heysen Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival Exhibition, Petaluma’s Bridgewater Mill and at the Adelaide Hills Art Affair.

More recently, she has shown her work at the Hahndorf Academy, where Mrs. Nicky Downer opened the exhibition. One of her most fascinating and
memorable experiences was when she painted a portrait of Alexander Downer MP for a Sydney Exhibition.

In 1997, one of her ‘Women’ series was selected and featured in the front cover of the Sydney Gallery Guide.

Maxine now lives in the Adelaide Hills and is one of Australia’s up and coming artists. Her next goal is to exhibit in New York.
